APS heads back to Duke’s East Campus for our annual Walk for the Animals. Walk for the Animalsis a 1.5 mile charity walk around Duke University’s East Campus, and raises money and awareness for homeless and neglected pets throughout the Durham community.
It's here! We are so excited to kick off fundraising for our 2024 Walk for the Animals! APS of Durham will stretch our legs with the best animal lovers in Durham. The Walk is our yearly reminder that APS relies on our incredible community to help support our life-saving work. Thank you for lifting us up with your energy, compassion, and commitment. The Walk for the Animals is our chance to gather as a community to support Durham's most vulnerable pets. Please help us reach our goal and make a gift today! Our Mission
Animal Protection Society of Durham is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been helping animals in our community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. APS provides care for nearly 4,000 displaced animals annually, ensuring they get the attention they need and deserve. We aim always to strengthen bonds between people and animals through community engagement and compassionate care for animals in need.
